Toyota Auris will be offered in US markets as Scion hot hatchback with refined and retuned features. Refreshed Auris debuted at Geneva Motor Show. There are small changes made to the previous Auris. Toyota confirms that these changes are enough to give a refresh to the American version. Headlights, taillights, and bumpers are pinched to give a new look to Auris for 2015.

The Auris features a wide grille up-front, while cabin shows very limited changes. It offers an updated connectivity equipment to facilitate the infotainment system. It is the most leading change in the entire Auris. New infotainment system and central console offers a list of new instruments. Toyota has shown its commitment to the UK market by starting the production of its new Auris in the company’s Burnastone, Derbyshire, plant. The move follows a £185 million of investment and creationof 800 jobs in supply chain and other areas despite the uncertainty of sales figures across the Europe.
Business Secretary Vince Cable has described Toyota’s move as “significant milestone” in the Japanese car manufacturer’s history in the UK. The move follows a reported net profit of 257.9bn Yen (£2bn) for the quarter ending in September. It is worth noting that company reported 80.4bn Yen (£0.27bn) profits for the last year, when its production was affected by the Japan’s tsunami. Sales have certainly picked up globally, including Europe where 412,000 cars have been sold. However, Toyota has revised its sales target for the year from 8.8 million cars to 8.75 million for the year.
About the beginning of the Auris Production in Burnastone, the president and chief executive of Toyota Europe said, “The new Auris is at the heart of our European strategy and we expect it to strengthen our sales performance in the family car market,” he said.
“Our Toyota Motor UK members at Burnaston and at the Deeside engine plant continue to demonstrate they can deliver the superior quality and efficiency that are vital for building our presence in a highly competitive marketplace.”
